LoLo

Maiden Flight 20th April 2011
Well my LoLo is finished and has had it’s maiden. The flight went well with just a small amount of rudder trim, possible due to more washout on one wing than the other. It handle the 5-10mph with ease.
Here is my set up:
AUW inc lipo 8.8oz 250gm
Motor BRC A2208/14T Brushless
ESC Turnigy 12amp
Lipo 2s 800ma (Gives about 15mins flight time)
Prop 8x4 APC style electric
Servo HXT500
RX Orange Rx Spektrum DSM2 Compatible 4Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver
Covering Litespan
Power output is 7.6amp 54Watts @ 7.1volt
So it looks like I could use a 10amp ESC and a 600ma Lipo to save a bit of weight.
The Lipo was placed as far forward as possible and was fine with power on, but I needed a lot of elevator to hold the glide. It certainly snap rolls and loops with ease with my power set up.
In fact on full throttle it climbs very very quickly indeed. Flew for about 10mins and used 50% of the Lipo’s capacity.
I have one or two refinements to do, but all in all I’m very pleased with the result.
